Coral Gables, FL — November 21, 2026 — Barakat + Bossa has expanded and formalized its construction capabilities through a dedicated Construction Practice Group led by Senior Attorney Lorenzo Lorenzo, Jr. The practice brings together the firm’s experience advising and representing construction-industry participants throughout the lifecycle of a project, from contract drafting and risk management through dispute resolution, arbitration, litigation, and trial.
The expanded practice serves owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, architects, engineers, design professionals, suppliers, and other project stakeholders across commercial, residential, mixed-use, hospitality, and other development projects. The team advises clients on construction and design agreements, project delays and disruptions, scope changes, construction and design defects, professional liability claims, payment disputes, lien and bond claims, and other issues that can affect a project’s financial and operational success.
Lorenzo, who joined Barakat + Bossa as a Senior Attorney in September, brings nearly 15 years of experience and a substantial background in complex construction matters. His experience includes high-rise condominium developments, mixed-use projects, commercial developments, hospitality projects, custom residential construction, and large-scale residential communities. He regularly handles matters involving construction and design defects, payment and lien claims, delay and disruption issues, professional liability disputes, construction contracts, and Florida’s Chapter 558 pre-suit process.
The practice also draws on the complementary experience of Barakat + Bossa partners Giacomo Bossa and Jocelyne A. Macelloni. Bossa brings significant experience in real estate and corporate matters affecting development projects, while Macelloni contributes experience in complex commercial disputes and creditors’ rights matters. Together, the team provides construction clients with counsel that considers not only the immediate project issue, but also the broader business, real estate, and financial implications.
