Coral Gables, FL. Founders Brian Barakat and Giacomo Bossa are pleased to announce that Jocelyne Macelloni has been promoted to partner at Barakat + Bossa. The firm is based in Coral Gables, Florida and Ms. Macelloni was on the team that recently won one of three appeals in the last month for clients of the practice.
An experienced litigator, Ms. Macelloni represents businesses in state and federal courts throughout the country and in various practice areas including corporate disputes, employment, construction, commercial real estate transactions and disputes, asset recovery, and factoring and other UCC-related disputes. Prior to joining Barakat + Bossa, Ms. Macelloni spent nearly a decade representing factoring companies and asset-based lenders where she developed extensive familiarity with business operations in a diverse range of industries including construction, freight forwarding, and import and export trade, enforced secured creditors’ rights, and protected creditors’ rights in bankruptcy.

Ms. Macelloni earned her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Central Florida. While attending law school, Ms. Macelloni was an active member of the Nova Law Review, served as Vice Justice of Phi Alpha Delta, spent a semester studying International Law at Universita degli Studi Roma Tre, in Rome, Italy, and received a certificate in International Law upon graduating.
In addition to her contributions to the Firm, Ms. Macelloni teaches civil pre-trial litigation as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law.
