Coral Gables, FL – September 10 – Barakat + Bossa is proud to announce a major litigation victory in a complex proceedings supplementary case, where attorneys Angelique Gulla and Barış Han Özkan secured a personal judgment against the defendants following a contentious trial.
The matter involved efforts to enforce a prior judgment against Transcad Corp. and extend liability to related parties. Despite facing difficult facts and procedural challenges, the legal team prevailed by aggressively pursuing a motion to strike and a motion for sanctions after learning that opposing counsel filed affidavits without the personal knowledge of affiants.
Although the judge allowed the case to proceed to trial, the court ultimately ruled in favor of the plaintiff, granting both motions and issuing sanctions against the defendants for their misconduct.
