Brad Emler currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Barakat + Bossa. As a key member of the Firm’s Executive Management Committee, he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and contributing to the strategic direction of the firm.
With over two decades of experience in executive leadership and team management, Brad specializes in aligning organizational and operational structures, particularly within regulated industries and professional service firms. His expertise spans across operational efficiency, growth strategy, and team development.
Before joining Barakat + Bossa, Brad was the Chief Administrative Officer at a prominent NLJ 500 and Mid-Market Pro 50 plaintiff law firm, where he played a pivotal role in nearly doubling the firm’s size during his tenure. Previously, he was the Chief Administrative Officer at an Am Law 200 firm, where he helped grow the firm from 180 to over 400 attorneys. His work with the firm contributed to its emergence as one of the top 200 firms in the U.S. by revenue.
Brad remains actively engaged in the community, currently serving on Florida’s Seventeenth Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law (UPL) Committee. From 2019 to 2022, he was a public member of Florida’s Seventeenth Circuit Grievance Committee.
A native of Fairport, New York, Brad enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps following high school, achieving the rank of Sergeant while on active duty. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master’s Degree in Law Firm Management from The George Washington University. Brad is also a graduate of the Leadership in Law Firms Executive Education Program at Harvard Law School.
