Coral Gables, FL — October 1, 2026 — Barakat + Bossa announces that Kevin R. Shohat has joined the firm’s Litigation + Dispute Resolution Practice Group, expanding the firm’s litigation team and strengthening its capabilities in complex disputes.
Shohat brings nearly a decade of litigation experience across both public service and private practice. He began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, where he developed substantial courtroom experience handling matters from investigation through trial.
In private practice, Shohat has represented corporations, insurers, private entities, and individuals in a range of disputes, including commercial litigation, property-related matters, and general liability claims. His experience spans all stages of litigation, from case strategy and discovery through dispositive motions, hearings, and trial preparation.

Shohat earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
As a member of Barakat + Bossa’s Litigation + Dispute Resolution Practice Group, Shohat will work alongside the firm’s attorneys representing businesses and individuals in sophisticated commercial disputes and other complex litigation matters.
