Barakat + Bossa Attorneys to Discuss Aircraft Transactions, Foreclosures, and Compliance at FABA 2026 Conference

Written by: Alejandra Muniz Marcial, Esq.

Barakat + Bossa is proud to participate in the Florida Aviation Business Association’s (FABA) 2026 Conference, taking place May 11–12, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. The conference is one of the aviation industry’s leading gatherings in the state, bringing together aviation businesses, professionals, and stakeholders to discuss key legal, operational, and commercial issues impacting Florida aviation.

Barakat + Bossa’s participation reflects the firm’s continued commitment to the aviation community. Partner Richard L. “Rich” Richards—a FABA Board Member, the association’s General Counsel, and Past President—will serve as moderator for the panel “Flight Plan for Compliance – Legal & Tax Essentials in Aviation,” further underscoring the firm’s leadership and long-standing involvement within the aviation sector.

The conference will also feature Barakat + Bossa attorneys Alejandra Muñiz Marcial and Laura Rodriguez, who will be speaking on legal issues impacting aviation businesses and stakeholders, including aircraft transactions and aircraft foreclosures—two areas that remain central to the industry’s operational and financial landscape.

Aircraft Transactions

Alejandra Muñiz Marcial will speak on aircraft transactions, a topic that addresses the legal and practical issues involved in structuring, documenting, and closing aircraft-related deals. Aircraft transactions can include purchase and sale agreements, leasing arrangements, ownership structures, financing considerations, and the allocation of operational and commercial risk.

In practice, these transactions require more than careful drafting. They demand a practical understanding of how legal structure supports business objectives, operational needs, and long-term value. Alejandra’s discussion will focus on the key considerations shaping aircraft transactions in today’s market and the importance of aligning legal analysis with commercial realities.

Aircraft Foreclosures

Laura Rodriguez will speak on aircraft foreclosures, focusing on the enforcement side of aviation finance and asset recovery. Aircraft foreclosures may arise when a lender or secured party seeks to enforce its rights following a default, often requiring close attention to collateral rights, enforcement procedures, timing considerations, and jurisdictional and practical challenges that can affect recovery efforts.

Laura’s discussion will provide insight into a topic that remains highly relevant in an industry where financing structures, collateral protection, and enforcement rights play a central role.

Continuing Barakat + Bossa’s Commitment to the Aviation Industry

Barakat + Bossa is honored to contribute to the aviation business community and looks forward to engaging with aviation professionals from across Florida and beyond at the FABA 2026 Conference.
