Sanya Rashad is currently a second year law student pursuing her Juris Doctor at the University of Connecticut School of Law. She graduated with Honors from Nova Southeastern University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Seeking hands-on advocacy experience, Sanya participates in UConn’s Asylum and Human Rights Clinic and the Criminal Defense Clinic where she acts as a law student representative for underserved clients. She is also a teaching assistant for Constitutional Law and a research assistant for professor Timothy Fisher, the School of Law’s former dean. Sanya currently serves as president of the school’s National Lawyer’s Guild chapter, the South Asian Law Student Association, and is a member of the South Asian Bar Association.
